Biography

I’ve spent nearly 25 years working with business owners – from sole traders to companies turning over millions – helping them understand their numbers and make better decisions. At Alexander Spencer, I combine my technical expertise with a pragmatic, down-to-earth approach so clients get clear, actionable insights rather than complicated accounting jargon.

I’ve always been driven by curiosity and a need to understand the “why.” If something doesn’t add up, I’ll dig deeper until it makes sense – for me and for the client. That approach has allowed me to support clients not just in saving tax, but in growing revenue, building sustainable businesses, and making smart long-term decisions. I believe more money made (and yes, more tax paid) is a sign of real progress.

Before joining Alexander Spencer, I founded and ran my own practice for many years. Building that business from the ground up gave me a deep appreciation of what clients face – the challenges, the risks, and the wins that come with growth. When the practice merged into Alexander Spencer, it was a natural step that allowed me to bring my clients into a bigger team while continuing to deliver the hands-on, real-world advice I’ve always valued.

Over the years, I’ve worked across everything from tax advisory to business strategy, technology integration and process improvement. I’ve built dashboards, rethought systems, and helped businesses put the right structures in place to scale. Some of my proudest achievements include supporting clients for more than two decades and being part of the journey that took one from a sole operator earning $100k a year to a $16m turnover business. For me, that long-term impact matters far more than short-term wins.

Outside of work, I’m a dad first, and you’ll often find me chasing snow, riding sideways (whether on a wakeboard or snowboard), shooting hoops, or tracking down Melbourne’s best eats.
